Empathic Therapy for Women 18 - 100

"Nurturing Restoration, Cultivating Strength"

Hello! I’m Sherolde

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

I am a diversely experienced psychotherapist who helps BIPOC women overcome a variety of issues related to traumatic events, racial trauma, intergenerational and historical trauma, and other global traumas.

I use Eye Movement Desensitization Processing (EMDR), which focuses on restructuring maladaptive processing to more adaptive processing of traumatic memories or experiences.  EMDR integrates neurological processing of internal and external experiences.  This allows unprocessed memories to link with adaptive memory networks.  The other modalities I use include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and mindfulness.

Healing trauma requires a positive therapeutic relationship between therapist and client.  An appropriate therapeutic relationship facilitates healing and creates an environment prime for navigating the work to be done.  I am wholly committed to being your partner in your healing journey through compassionate, non-judgmental holding of space to allow you to express necessary and culturally sensitive areas of emotional, mental, and physical pathology.
